Berlin, Munich and the Memorial Sites
Where the tours go, what they include, and how the memorial visits differ.
A Jewish heritage trip to Germany usually centres on Berlin: the New Synagogue on Oranienburger Strasse, consecrated in 1866, the old Jewish cemetery on Grosse Hamburger Strasse, and a guided visit to the Sachsenhausen Memorial, about 35 km north of the city. From Munich the equivalent visit is the Dachau Memorial Site. Both memorials are free to enter; a guided visit adds the transport and the history. The most reviewed visit from Berlin is Insider Tour Berlin’s guided trip to Sachsenhausen, from $39 a person as of October 2026, rated 4.9 from 2,095 reviews.
